Still Sick… just a little worse!

Published by kristy at 10:49 pm under Parenting, Teens, Tips, Young Adults Edit This

OK… so yesterday I said that I didn’t believe that Garrett threw up. I really thought that he was faking that part to convince me to keep him home from school.

Today, I wonder if maybe I was wrong.

This morning I woke up to the sound of someone throwing up! (LOL Life as a mom…. it doesn’t necessarily bother me, I just want to know who the culprit is and are they in the living room or the bath room doing this!)

I immediately thought that it must be 6:28am. Did you ever watch that movie Groundhog day where the guy kept waking up and it was the same day each time the alarm went off? Thankfully, this wasn’t the case. It was indeed Tuesday, so at least maybe I wasn’t reliving Monday! And, it was not 6:28, but 5:55am instead! Why can’t kids get sick in mid-day hours when you have all your facilities about you?

So, I am thinking Garrett is throwing up! I roll over to find him laying next to me in bed sound asleep. (Don’t know how he got there…. that happens every now and then) So, Garrett is not throwing up and neither am I, so that leaves poor Tim.

By the time I finish process of elimination, the sound of throwing up has been replaced by coughing in the living room. I get up quickly and find my robe to find Tim laying on the couch. I ask him if he needs some medicine (By the way…. if you or your kids are ever having nausea, Emetrol is a miracle worker and it is an over-the-counter liquid that has NO after taste at all!)

Tim said that he was fine, but then told me he had been nauseous the whole day before and all night long!

Why don’t my boys give me this valuable information when it is happening?

As the day progressed, Tim felt worse and I definitely could feel better. Garrett went on to school, but I did have to bring him Dayquil in the middle of the day for his stuffiness. I hate being sick and I hate my kids to be sick! This is the part of life that I hate the most! My ear is bulging from fluid and my head feels like it is being squeezed by a vice! Oh well, Tim has a doctor appointment tomorrow, so at least one of us can get better to take care of the rest of us! My hubby is coming home this weekend from being out the past 3 weeks on the road. We all have to get better and get rid of the bad germs before he comes home, because the last thing we want is for him to catch it too!
