Remember When Comes Back!
It has been quite a while since I have written for Remember When. I have been quite busy with my other blog, Mosaic Moments , not to mention planning a conference , an International Awareness Campaign, getting my hubby back Over The Road (Truck Driving) and life in general.
Did I mention that I am also the president of International Mosaic Down Syndrome Association ?
I have decided to make some changes to this blog. It will still go with my theme of Remember When, however instead of looking back at past movies, products, commercials, and TV shows, I am going to begin blogging about parenting and our struggles, challenges, and loads of laughs.
I am the parent of 3 sons and 2 stepsons. Currently their ages are 27, 23, 22, 21 and 12. Yes, the 12 year old was a surprise, but a very nice one! The 27 year old has his own family and my four grandsons ages 9, 6, 5, and 2. The 23 and 21 yr old are my step sons, and live in other states, so I don’t get to talk with them much. The 22 yr old is my son and he has mosaic Down syndrome, ADHD, and Asperger syndrome. However, everyone is about to have a birthday! Well, almost everyone. The only excluded parties for the spring birthdays are the 27 yr old and the 5 yr old. Everyone else has birthdays starting March 11-May 19. So, basically starting March 11 we have at least 1 if not more birthdays every 2 weeks!
I have 27 years experience in raising kids. All Boys who are All Boy! With my youngest darling about to enter the WONDERFUL WORLD OF TEENAGE-HOOD, I am going to blog about our experiences, our problems, our solutions (if we can find any) and along the way, I am sure that I will blog about the other boys as well. Because parenting does not stop at 18! Parenting, I don’t think, even stops when you die! I imagine myself looking down from heaven and asking God if I can go down and tie a shoe or offer a hug.
So, please stay with me and join me in our crazy antics. There is never a dull moment in my house and entering the teenage years (although I think he did that a few years ago already!) will be quite interesting and hopefully I will make it through!
